The mystery of life is one of those things that can be both exciting and terrifying all at the same time.  Having hope for your future and the ability to control the path in which we decide what we wish to become is something that no one should ever take for granted.  This week’s guest shares how his hopes, dreams and ambitions were suddenly disrupted without warning.

Finding purpose following a tragedy can be very difficult for anyone.  However, my guest Devon Rickett and his family, were faced with such a difficult path for a second time when he had a freak accident while driving home from the gym one evening.  Devon wasn’t in a place he wasn’t supposed to be or doing something he wasn’t supposed to be doing.  He was simply driving down the interstate after a workout when he hit a concrete barrier that had been flipped into the middle of the road after another vehicle had struck the barrier.

When Devon woke up the next day at the Med in downtown Memphis, TN, he was made aware that he was paralyzed from the waist down.  This news would be devastating for anyone at any age, but for a young guy in his 20’s, with his entire life in front of him this was impossible to believe.

Devon could have given up and decide to hate life, but instead, he made the decision to fight back and give everything he had to walking again.  His story of how his family, friends and girlfriend never left his side and his faith in God is both heartwarming and inspirational.  You are sure to find strength through this young man’s testimony and I know that Devon Rickett is going to do big things in this world!
