Connecting Life’s Dots: Marika Therrien’s Traumatic Experience at the 2017 Vegas Shooting

This week’s guest was born a free spirit.  Growing up in rural New Hampshire, Marika found her love for nature and art.  Not knowing exactly what she wanted to do in life she did like many people often do and follow the advice of other’s in an attempt to find her place in the world.

After graduating from college with a biology degree, she realized medicine was not her passion.  It was a trip to Las Vegas that introduced her to an entirely different life style.  When her friend suggested she was made for that city she packed her bags and decided to try a new life out west.  Moving to Las Vegas in April of 2017 was both exciting and uncertain.

In October, she went with a friend to a country concert to assist with taking some pics.  Shortly after leaving the concert she found herself sitting at the base of the Mirage when suddenly she heard what was thought to be fireworks going off only to realize she was directly under the window of the shooter that ultimately killed 60 people and injured over 800.  Following this harrowing event she was then living her life on pins and needles when an innocent date turned into a stalker situation that haunted her for over two years.
